(Tiny Tips) What to Do when Good Habits morph into Bad ones

TINY TIPS FOR TIMES OF CHANGE
☹️ It is not uncommon for good habits to morph into bad habits. 😫 This often happens when good habits are taken to an extreme. This is why we should all be aware of our behaviour, even when it seems positive.  

People who want things to be the very best can seem to be very upbeat people. At least that is true until they go too far. When their mannerisms becomes nit-picking, exaggerated and towards perfectionism, their good habits have turned into bad habits. 👎

Sometimes it happens that your good habits morph into bad ones without you realising it.

Once it has reached such a point, situations tend to deteriorate. As an example, some people make their neatness into a bad habit. They start out nice because they just want to keep things tidy and clean. They are perfectly willing to do some work to keep it that way. Then, they go overboard. They begin stressing over every tiny smudge or speck of dust. Besides this, they expect you to be as obsessive as they are. 😡

😧 A similar situation happens when people start buying in bulk. At first they tell themselves they are just stocking up. However, the stocking up may not stop at a reasonable level. If it has become an obsession, their entire basement, garage, attic, and all their closets may be filled with extra food and cleaning supplies.

This just goes to show that extremes are usually bad habits waiting to happen. Be a considerate person, yes, but do not do it at the expense of your own well-being. Indeed, you should make sure your family has what it needs.
😞 Having your good habits turn into bad habits makes your life difficult. And when they are "too much" very often you don't see them. And even if your loved ones point it out, you don't get it.

Behind every exaggeration is a deep rooted fear. In all my 30 years experience training and coaching I have seen the oddest things surface in clients. 

One woman had become obsessed with running around age 40. Then at 65 she started to have her knees and even hip replaced from the wear and tear.

🚀 We discovered that her grandfather had died in a bombing in WWI. If he had "run faster" he might have lived. That "memory" set off her need to run, run, run. But it was unconscious to her until she took time to examine the "fear".
